APAD March # 11 - Red

The first colour that attracted our son was Red. He seemed obsessed with the colour from the time he was 3 months old. It was what made him smile the most. So we chose Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat theme for his first birthday and used as much as the colour red as we could. You can read more about that post here
Red is the colour most commonly associated with joy and well being. It is the colour of celebration and ceremony. It is the colour Christmas and Santa are associated with. It is the colour of Love and Valentine. It is the colour used on the red carpet to welcome distinguished guests. It is the traditional colour of seats at the theatre. In India, it is the colour of sindoor and bindi which are the symbols of a married woman. I cannot imagine any other colour replacing red in all these situations.

This picture was taken on 23rd August at our son's first birthday party at home.
